This is the stock pulley size. This is for someone who wants to use the stock size pulley in the winter for regular driving and then switch to a smaller pulley with easeView our other auctions to find the other sizes. Anything under a 3.4 pulley requires a lot of other modifications to run it properly. Without the correct supporting modifications engine detonation will occur. The stock pulley size is a 3.8". If you have no idea if you can run this size of a pulley you probably cannot. Anything under a 3.0" requires upgraded injectors, intercooler and much more other items.If you have a 1996-2003 Supercharged 3800 GM vehicle and it has zero supporting mods I would not recommend anything smaller than a 3.6". If you have a downpipe, cold air intake, colder thermostat, colder spark plugs you can do a 3.4 or 3.5 on 93 octane. If 2004-07 Grand Prix it has a more aggressive supercharger and with the modifications above you would be safe on a 3.6 pulley. 2004-05 Impala and Monte Carlo supercharger is the same as the 1997-03 Grand Prix supercharger. Only the 2004-07 Grand Prix Supercharger has the more aggressive Gen 5 M90.This Pulley system is NOT compatible with the older M62 3800 supercharged engines from Pre 1995.Running a smaller pulley on your supercharged 3.8 will increase boost and HP. Kit includes stainless steel modular hub, allen bolts, snout plug, and the pulley itself.A Supercharger Pulley Puller will be needed to remove old press on pulley and to install new modular pulley hub.That can be purchased here.Black anodized for a lifetime of corrosion free performance. 5 bolt design is compatible with ZZPerformance pulleys.Shorter serpentine belt is required to compensate for the smaller pulley size.Premium fuel required on supercharged cars!!!! Failure to run premium will damage your engine. The pulley system includes HUB, pulley, 5 stainless socket cap button screws, and one barbed retainer to replace the breather bolt. After removing the stock pulley our steel hub presses on using the same pulley tool used to remove the factory pulley. No jaw style puller should be used to remove a supercharger pulley, if it is used, it will destroy the pulley and possibly damage the supercharger. Once installed the hub allows quick changing of pulleys with an Allen wrench. The ZZP MPS allows you to change between pulleys with ease by simply unbolting the 5 allen bolts, use one pulley for street use and a smaller for the track or when running high octane fuel. A modular pulley system is a must for those planning to continue to modify their car in the future. Our pulleys come with 8 ribs on them, but a 6 rib belt will still work completely fine. We designed it with 8 ribs to allow you for future upgrading to 8 Rib system.
