It was created by Wu Yuxiang who was born in Gangfu town of Yongnian county of Hebei province. Wu Yuxiang, his name is Heqing, and his another name is Yuxiang and his alias is Lianquan. He was born in a literary and official family in East Street of Guangfu in 1812. He loves Wushu when he was a boy, and he learned Chang Quan and Hong Quan from his farther. In 1852. He went to Zhaobao town of Henan province and learned from Chen Qingping who was famous master of Taijiquan and studied Taij Quan. Chen Qingping taught Yuxiang all essence of boxing which he had studied. When Wu Yuxiang came back home, he studied Taijiquan with his nephew, Li Yiyu and Li Qixuan. After studying several years, they created a new boxing which was different from old frame and new frame of Chen-style Taijiquan and big frame and small frame of Yang style Taijiquan. The action and shape of this boxing are tight, simple, right vigor and flexible and elegance. It was called "middle stroke frame" at that time..
