Description: Vintage Fallis. The seat has been replaced by John Fallis, as you can see from the very white buck stitching (don't tie your saddled horse under an oak tree with low branches!). The breast collar is new and also made by Slim's son John. I took loads of shots so you can see the exquisite carving - oak leaves and acorns - even on the top & back of the cantle. Comfortable saddle - fits both my Arab-Quarter and my round Rocky mares - and me! I just have too many saddles. Here are some measurements - let me know if you want to see a picture with the measuring tape. Gullet 6", Skirt width (stirrup tree width) 12.5", Skirt length 24", Cantle height 2.5". As you can tell from the pictures, as western saddles go, this one is fairly light. Maybe 25 lbs. This is a lovely saddle for 62 years old. Clearly it has been treated gently through the years (well, other than by my horse). I'm guessing Mr Grogan was it's first owner as he carved his initials, his last name and even his SSN (!) on the saddle but all well hidden. Plenty of wool as you can see from the photo. Small tear/damage just above one stirrup. Hasn't gotten any worse over my 5+ years of use. Send me your questions. You won't regret owning this saddle.
