Description: The item is sold as is, as found and as you see it. The item is a vintage hotel silver long handled teapot from Reed and Barton. The item is from the Shoreland Hotel, probably from Hyde Park/Chicago, Il. The teapot is in good condition with age related issues. The item is in tarnished condition. Was untouched and purchased as you see it so condition can only be known if cleaned. Could be nickel silver or silver plate. The item underneath says Reed and Barton silver soldered. The Shoreland. Theres a front emblem with two lions and a shield where it says The Shoreland Hotel. Hinged lid, it wont close evenly, sticks up a litton on one side. Under lid near hings from inside, the metal sticks out in the wall a bit; probably from years of use. The under lid ridge is a bit flattened and out of shape near hinge. The inside will have darkened tarnish area, greenish color in and near bottom, scratches. There is a dent near bottom on from right and a pushed in line. Gouge line near pourer long handle. The bottom ridge band has a lot of pot marked type surface; could be from years of use or part of the design. Scratches on underside, another small dent on back side near bottom. The pour end flat side looks pushed in or couldve been made that way. There my be gouges here and there, scratches, wear on edging but from years of use. The fact that the item is from Chicago and the hotel no longer exists; it is now used for residential. Cool item; could be for a person that collects Chicago memoribilia and also unusual in the form. May be part of history that you can own. see all pics carefully as there be more issues not mentioned but tried to measure them all. Measures 9.75" X10.5" X 6.25".
