Description: Antique wooden Japanese puzzle box from early 1900 - 1920s. Beautifully crafted, the lid of this little box features a traditional Japanese scene of Mount Fuji in the background and a house and lake in the foreground. The inlaid marquetry Is well crafted from different types of wood. The front almost has a bookshelf appearance. There is a secret compartment in the right side of the base of the box accessed by sliding different sections on the front. Traditionally, the key for the main compartment would have been hidden here. The key is a sweet little brass key . This is such a lovely little rectangular box - it measures just 4.25 inches wide by 3 inches deep and 3 inches tall. The sliding parts work well. Box is in very good condition with no visible signs of damage.
