Description: VINTAGE 1930 POSTCARD OF WASHINGTON AVENUE, DE RIDDER, LOUISIANA. Of note: the early gas / service station with pumps under overhang to the left; also, the space above the gas station carries the name: Patterson & Vanneste ... Improved Farms. This postcard is in pristine condition, direct from the Curt Teich Archives. The card has been in our possession for approximately 15+ years ... long before the Curteich digitally archived images found their permanent home with The Newberry Institute. At the time of our acquisition, the Lake County Discovery Museum in IL was the custodian of the company's records, having served in that capacity since 1982. The card is scarce for 3 reasons: 1) its absolutely Mint condition, 2) records show this particular card has not sold once in the past dozen years, and 3) the rare appearance of an early gas station in a postcard. Domestic shipping includes eBay tracking (not necessarily door to door ... more likely tracking of delivery to hub closest to buyer's address) and insurance. Rigid mailer. We ship weekdays with the exception of US federal holidays. We will ship with either free shipping or calculated shipping ... it depends on the given scenario.
