Description: I don't know much about it, but got it to turn on and static noise to play. A compact four-track stereo tape recorder from the Roberts company from around 1966 with a 100kHz bias oscillator specifically designed to for FM multiplex recording. This machine still utilized valve circuitry in an age when most tape-recorders were heading in the direction of solid state electronics. Features included a single motor, 3 speeds, pause control, an anti-backlash rocker arm to reduce tape spillage, “accurate” VU meter, electrical switching and two 5″ x 7″ extended range speakers. Maximum reel size was 7″ and an automatic tape shut off was also provided. The unit came with two dynamic microphones and retailed in the USA in 1966 for about $230.00.
