Description: This is an original oil painting on canvas framed in a vintage gold tone frame. The subject is a landscape scene that shows a view thru a wooded area with a stream in the foreground and mountains with sky in the background. Dimensions of the stretched canvas are: 10” by 12” Frame; 12.5” by 14.5” A landscape painting on canvas or linen. The actual date of production is not known. To me it appears to be from the late 1800’s thru the 1940’s. There is a label affixed to the back of the frame which has a certain vintage but it does not exactly date the age of the painting. I cannot see any signature on the painting. The painting has some condition issues. There are some cracks in the paint surface. There are several tears in the canvas that seem to have been patched from the reverse side. The paint surface is not uniformly flat. Please see all photos. There are several areas where the weave of the canvas is visible, where the paint has separated from the canvas. I have pointed out issues that are apparent to me. There might be other condition issues. The picture seems fairly stable at this time but the buyer might have restoration work done. There seems to be a heavy varnish on the surface. The overall charm and warmth of the painting are very pleasing. To my taste the wear and condition issues are a part of the history and uniqueness of the piece. I will accept the return of the painting for any reason within 30 days. Buyer covers shipping. Thank you.
