Vintage Hanging Light - Tooled Leather Indonesian Themed

Description: A beautiful Hanging vintage tooled leather light fixture from the late 1970's early 1980's. It is a burnt-umber/orange colro with black accents. The leather has been cut into designs of men riding elephants and shootin arrows and ladies dancing in tradition costumes and is just beautifully rendered. A very rare find in this condition as there are no chips aor breaks in the leather design nor in the scalllped leather edging. Measurements: 13" from top to bottom and the opening at the bottom is 22" It's a nice light-weight fixture as it's only approx. 3 lbs. in weight. The underside of the light has a guaze-like, chiffon-fabric type covering that allows light to comeout but bugs not to up into the light bulb. It is surrounded by a decorative cremem colored trim so when you look up into it is pleasant to the eye. It take a regular incandescent light bulb which can be converted to LED if so desired. It was originally made to be a permanent mounted ceiling fixture as there is a celing cap that comes with it and it also comes with it's original mounting screw rod and the cap bottom to keep the brass-colored cap in place against the ceiling. It has been wired to accomodate a plu that is approx. 10' long, so you can plug it in and use it right awa ad tuck the ceiling plate near the top of your hook in the ceiling, or have it hard wired into a box. There are two electricians screw-type wire caps that plug this light in and those have been covered with electrical tape. I've never had a problem using the fixture, but as always, check to make sure that wires are all safe when using.
