Description: This pottery dish measures approximately 7 1/8" in diameter, and just over an inch in height. It has an illustration of the 12 metre sailing yacht the Intrepid in the center, on an off-white background. This was hand colored by Delano Studios of Setauket, Long Island, New Jersey. It is marked on the back with this and the year 1962. I don't know if that date is correct; all of the information I have on the Intrepid is that it was built in 1967. It was designed by Olin Stephens and built of double-planked mahogany on white oak frames. The design was quite innovative in more ways then one. The Intrepid won the America's Cup racing competition in 1967 and 1970. This dish is in good condition with no chips or cracks. There are some surface marks on the base, and wear to the gold gilt trim and accents. Please see my pictures, and thanks for looking! Fragile items are packaged securely and with care
