Description: Don’t know the year made, but probably from the early 1900’s for the early tourism trade. Appears to be a tobacco pipe. Missing the bone or inserted mouthpiece, but the condition is perfect, like you could smoke in it now with no issues. Carved from some type of black slate material. Looks northwest coast and could even be argillite. Bowl is made from copper. Totemic carvings which feature several different effigies to include what appears to be an eagle and a raven among others. More than likely Tlingit or Haida origin. Came from a local estate. Please check out my other great and rare auctions.
