First and Original RIP 1999 12" x 8" ~ little to no wear Such a unique piece from Caesars World Inc., an emblematic American icon who played a pivotal role in the inception of the Vegas and Atlantic City gaming scenes. Originating as Lum's Inc., a restaurant chain, the company pivoted to the gaming industry by acquiring Caesars Palace on the Las Vegas Strip in 1969. After divesting its restaurant business, it rebranded and expanded to eight casinos and resorts. Following a succession of ownership changes starting in 1995, Caesars was eventually acquired by Park Place Entertainment in 1999. The Caesars name endured, with Park Place renaming itself Caesars Entertainment in 2004. 2005 Harrah's Entertainment purchased the company and adopted the Caesars Entertainment name in 2010. Imagine hanging this vintage historic collectible on your wall as home decor in any room! Stock certificates, like this one, are a rare find. Once they find their way into museums and private collections, they become increasingly difficult to acquire. These documents hold a wealth of history, with the first stock certificate being issued in 1606 by the Dutch East India Company. Fast forward four hundred seven years, and the Walt Disney Company issued one of the last paper stock certificates from a major corporation in 2013. This is a unique opportunity to own a piece of history. My pictures seriously don't do it justice. These had to be done on heavy paper stock, almost like a dollar bill, but stiffer and more durable, which makes them stay vibrant and new-looking for a long time. The other unique thing about stock certificates is that they have all kinds of exciting signatures, and you never know who you will find. Almost all stocks are signed by the company President and Secretary. Some collectors research the other signatures and historical significance, and they add so much provenance and value to an already valuable item. I have never done this as I can barely read my signature, let alone one from over 100 years ago, and with the time it would take to do thousands of certificates, my mother and I decided years ago not to bother.
