This handmade ceramic pottery piece has an organic curvy shape with raised bars containing several notches to hold cigarettes. Its colors, produced by a glossy drip glaze, vary between caramel browns, orange, red, white, yellow and black. Embossed on the back of the piece is Maurice of California U.S.A copyrighted trademark insignia, with production number IM-97. It measures about 10 inches in length, about 8 inches wide, and 2 inches at tallest point of rim. This ashtray has been kept in storage and seems not to have been used for smoking; but it has 3 small chips two are on the end of the longer point and one on the end of the opposite point.
