Description: Vintage 1940s WILARDY White Pearlized DIAMOND RHINESTONE Lucite Bag Purse Click images to enlarge Description VINTAGE LUCITE HANDBAG PURSE Wonderful vintage oval white pearlized Lucite handbag measuring about 8-1/3" long, 4-1/3" deep, 3-1/2" tall (without handle), and 8" tall with handle. Featuring a beautiful, marbleized pattern, bag bottom edge is mounted with a 1-1/2" band of clear diamond cut rhinestones, handle is clear rounded Lucite, hinge and handle mounts are chrome, latch front is also chrome with a bevel cut Lucite mounted accent, lid sits flat, and underside bears four button feet. Interior retains the original mirror (minor wear), and latch snaps closed neatly for a secure hold. Unsigned, but made by Wilardy dating 1940s or 1950s, condition is lovely with a hint of age related usage wear - no cracks, chips, discoloration, rust, missing stones, clouding, smells, etc. Only thing of note is a tiny bit of staining around one rhinestone on the back as shown, and several rhinestones that are not quite as bright, also on the back - I was not certain how to clean the soiling - it does not detract. Please note that the rhinestones are connected by very fine thread - there are several tiny breaks in the thread on the back - since the stones are also glued in place, they are secure - this is a very fine minor issue and cannot be seen without a loop. Simple and elegant, it is so stunning in it's simplicity - rhinestones really catch the light - a transitional piece that can be carried from daytime into the night.
