Description: Pair of vintage U.S. Air Force “U.S.” lapel insignia. The insignia are from the estate of Richard “Bubba” Heinisch (1934-2018), a U.S. Air Force B-47 Stratojet Navigator/Bombardier with the 96th Bomb Wing, F-100 Super Sabre fighter pilot with the 352nd Tactical Fighter Squadron, and TWA pilot for 23 years. The insignia are approximately 3/4" long. The insignia are marked “1K,” indicating they were made by Krew, Inc., Attleboro, MA. The insignia have clutch backs. The insignia are probably from 1955-1966. The insignia are in good to very good used condition with signs of age and wear, such as scratches, scrapes, abrasions, nicks, pits, and indentations. One or more of the clutch back posts may be slightly bent. Some of the imperfections may be a result of the manufacturing process. Please see photos, as they constitute part of the description.
