UNWORN Shadowline Mint Green Peignoir Set, Robe, Nightgown, White Lace, Full Swe

Description: Vintage 70s Shadowline peignoir set in UNWORN condition with original sales tag. This set is light mint green and has feminine white lace and lovely full sweep gown and robe. The set includes a nightgown and robe to complete this peignoir set. This set is light mint green with rows of white white lace detail on both the peignoir robe and the night gown. The nightgown has a V neckline neckline and a very fitted bodice area. There are 3 rows of 2.5 inch white lace see-thru trim detail of body of full skirt. The bodice shows a size 34 - but the person wearing this wears a 36 bra - so there is some give in this top. The bodice has one bow detail at center - but this is strictly decorative and this cannot be tightened or loosened. This is fitted to just above waistline. This a-lines just under the bust area and finishes in a very full sweep of 108 inches at hemline. The matching peignoir robe has a boat neckline with a center tie. The sleeves are cut in and have two rows of matching 2.5 inch white see-thru lace. This is a fuller cut and has a full sweep of 100 inches at hemline. The robe has one pockets at the right seam and is a hidden pocket. The gown is sleeveless. The robe has short sleeves. These are unworn. These were sales samples and were show to customers to see quality and workmanship before they purchased. The salesman would have brought these pieces to show the quality and style for customers like big box stores to purchase for sale in their stores. The nightgown was model 3141 and came in pink, blue, mint and red. This is the mint (or light green) color. The retail price of this was $17 for just the night gown. The robe is style 7141 and retailed for $17. Both of these pieces were shown around May 3, 1978, as is shown on the sales tags. This set would have retailed for $34 for the two piece peignoir set. The minimum wage in 1978 was $2.65 per hour - so this set would be the equivalent of almost 13 hours worth of work to buy this in 1978. The inside tags are the Black and White Shadowline tags: All Nylon Machine wash - can be machine dried if desired. The size on this says small - but may also fit a medium if the bust size works for you. The model is a size 36. Please see below to see if this will work for you. Peignoir Robe: inset sleeve design - with no shoulder seams. sleeves are inset and are 5 inches on the inside and 17 inches on the outside. Around bicep area is 22 inches Bust is 38 inches under bust is 40 inches waist is 42 inches hips are 46 inches around hem measures 100 inches length is 55 inches Nightgown: bust is 34 inches under bust is 28 inches sleeveless waist is 36 inches hips are 40 inches length is 54 inches around hem measures 108 inches Tag inside say All Nylon Made in USA Size S Machine wash Condition: Mint condition with no signs of wear or use. These were sale samples and have not been worn. The original sales tags are on these units. It does not get any better than this. The nylon and workmanship is lovely. Feminine and demure.....and the light mint green color is divine and so feminine. Very reminiscent of the Victorian revival fashions of the 80s along with the ruffles and lace made popular by Laura Ashley. I have purchased many unworn sales samples from 60, 70, 80s and 90s.
