Description: UKRAINE - 2022 MNH HRYHORII SKOVORODA GARDEN OF SONGS SOUVENIR SHEET - F35 UKRAINE - 2022 MNH HRYHORII SKOVORODA GARDEN OF SONGS SOUVENIR SHEET - D36 Click image to enlarge Description I was wondering how I could help the Ukrainian war effort. Sending money to charities was a possibility, but I wanted to participate in the actual war effort. Then it dawned on me that I could sell Ukrainian Postage stamps on EBAY, purchased directly from the Ukrainian Postal Service. The funds received would go directly to the Government of Ukraine for use as they deemed most appropriate. I will maintain a separate spreadsheet for all the Ukrainian stamps I sell and assure you that all profit will go into purchasing additional stamps from the Ukrainian Postal Service. So far, we have provided the Government of Ukraine with $8167.32 for their effort. (A very nice start - I'm telling myself we bought nice warm jackets for a few Soldiers to withstand the winter weather). The assistance of my past and future customers in helping me with this effort is greatly appreciated. Please tell your relatives, friends, and coworkers of my listings. Again, all profit on the Ukrainian stamps I sell will go straight to the Ukrainian Postal Service for use by the Government of Ukraine as they see fit. I have an excellent selection of sheets related to the war effort up for sale now and have started to add non-war related issues to my inventory. Please sign up for my Newsletter, if you want to receive word of new issues as they come in. The following description of the "Skovoroda" issue was taken directly off the Ukrposhta site: Hryhorii Skovoroda is a philosopher, a writer of a great depth, an extraordinary person that every European culture would be proud of. He was born in the village Chornukhy (Poltava region) and studied at the Kyiv-Mohyla Academy. Hryhorii Skovoroda preferred personal spiritual freedom - practiced asceticism and travelled a lot. The artistic legacy of Hryhorii Skovoroda are philosophical works, collections of songs and fables ("The Garden of Divine Songs", "The Fables of Kharkiv"). Skovoroda's sayings, devoted mainly to ethics, gained a great popularity: "Love arises from love...", "Do the things you were born to do...", "...care is the movement of the soul, and life is the movement..." etc. The philisopher’s saings were geathered into numerous collections of aphorisms. Hryhorii Skovoroda saying "The world chased me but could not catch me" has become especially relevant today, when he was "not caught" by the Russian aggressors either. On May 6, 2022, the russian military fired a missile directly at the building of the Hryhorii Skovoroda National Literary Memorial Museum in the village Skovorodynivka (Kharkiv region), where the thoughtful man lived and worked during the last years of his life. Although the building was badly damaged and burned inside, authentic objects of the museum fund related to the life and work of Hryhorii Skovoroda have been preserved. A statue of the philosopher has also survived. The postage block, dedicated to the 300th anniversary of the birth of Hryhorii Skovoroda, is a charity issue of Ukrposhta. The funds collected will be forwarded by Ukrposhta to the reconstruction of the Hryhoriі Skovoroda National Literary Memorial Museum.I do offer combined S&H for multiple items purchased by the same Buyer.
