UGLY / GIMME THE CAR 12" EP Violent Femmes - 1983 1st German Pressing VG+ / VG+

Description: Violent Femmes are an American folk punk band from Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Formed in 1980, the founding members were Gordon Gano (guitar, lead vocals), Brian Ritchie (bass, backing vocals), and Victor DeLorenzo (drums). Violent Femmes are considered to be an integral part of the then-underground folk punk and alternative rock scenes of the 1980s, and remain influential or inspirational to the subsequent movements, particularly on folk rock, indie rock, grunge, pop punk, emo, and the late 1980s and 1990s alternative rock scene. The band found critical acclaim with the release of their self-titled debut album in early 1983, which featured many of their best-known songs, including "Blister in the Sun", "Kiss Off", "Add It Up" and "Gone Daddy Gone". “Ugly / Gimme The Car” is a 12-inch EP (45 RPM) pressed in Germany in 1983, prior to the release of their second studio album, Hallowed Ground (1984). Both of the title cuts appear on side one. On side two are the songs “Gone Daddy Gond” and “Good Feeling”, both from their first, self-titled album (see above). A 7-inch single with the two title songs was also release in the U.K. THIS COPY is an original German pressing from 1983 (see Notes, below). The vinyl is in Very Good Plus [VG+] or better condition. The thin cardboard sleeve, called "die-cut" due to a cut out section at the record opening, is also in Very Good Plus [VG+] condition. The Notes (below) mention a "generic inner sleeve", but finding none, I have added a new plain white inner sleeve with center hole. Notes - Released with a generic inner sleeve - For any reason side B is printed as side 'AA' on label. - Runouts are etched The thin cardboard sleeve has a die-cut record opening which doesn’t’ appear on later pressings.
