Description: The Uganda 5,000 Shillings Banknote was released by the Bank of Uganda in 2004. Featured on the obverse of the violet banknote are the Lake Bunyonyi and terraces, the coat of arms of Uganda, leaves, the bank emblem, and the equator monument near Masaka. The reverse of the note depicts railroad cars and a Kaawa ferry. The banknote’s reverse also shows a coffee bush. The paper bill contains a holographic stripe, a solid security thread with a demetallized 5000, and a watermark that reveals a crested crane. The note measures 150 x 5 mm and is signed by Janet Kahirimbanyi and Emmanuel Tumusiime Mutebile. This particular paper bill is in uncirculated condition.
