Description: Offered here is a vintage children's book: The Jungle Baby, by G E Farrow, published by Raphael Tuck & Sons, Ltd., London, Illustrated By Edit M. and Mabel F. Taylor. Published by Raphael Tuck and Sons, Ltd. No. 205. No date. assumed 1903, thus possibly a First Edition. Size; Small, 4 x 6 3/4 inches. Un-paginated - 23 pages of text facing 23 very bright chromolithograph illustrations. Hardcover, beige paper covered boards, green cloth spine, red titles, and an embossed frame enclosing a picture of a bear hugging a boy. The fly leaf is decorated with images of the boy and animals within. The story of a little boy living in India that escapes the watchful eye of his ayah and, wandering into the forest, encounters a tiger, a bear, an elephant, a mongoose and snake.The cover is worn at the extremities as seen, the corners are bumped such that the cardboard shows through, light stain residue spots on the cover, back end papers are colored by a child - no other markings inside, some light cracking at the inside page hinges, there are a couple of tiny random pieces of paper stuck inside [as seen on the title page].
