Description: This is not a regular Steam Deck. I have tweaked the hardware and software to get the utmost performance and energy efficiency. This is not a Frankenstein system either, I have done everything to keep the stock's look and feel. This even performs better than oled version. I'll list what I have done: -Removed the stock cooling paste and added an industry leading type of cooling called PTM7950, a unique thermal pad for extreme applications. It's a one a done thermal pad that's good for the life of the system after applying it (unless you open the unit and disassemble the copper from the SoC, at which point, you'll need to re-apply) unlike regular CPU thermal paste, this thermal paste does not require yearly changes to maintain performance. This cools down the system about 10 degrees compared to stock temps. This means, instead of reaching 89C under full workload, now the system tops at 79C (under same TDP). I didn't add unnecessary copper cooling or extra thermal padding to other components so as not to mess with the critical internal airflow that dissipates heat from all components. -Changed stock storage from 64gb to 256gb. This, and the previous point, are the only hardware changes from stock. -Overclocked Ram: From stock 5500 Mhz to 6400 Mhz. Same as steam Deck Oled. This yields huge performance boost (about 15% increase to all games) compared to stock. Also modified the Ram timing to achieve this. The overclock is completely stable. -Overclocked CPU and GPU: from 3500Ghz to 3900Ghz (CPU) and from 1600Ghz to 1900Ghz (GPU). I tested these overclocks for a long period of time with various benchmarking tools (mprime, unigine, and games) and was able to pass them all without crashes. Due to better cooling, this beast was able to reach the overclocking speeds without problems. It does not reach both CPU and GPU overclocks at the same time due to TDP constrains; it will switch to what's needed the most at the specific time. -Increased TDP from stock 15W to 22W. This is what allows the system to reach the overclocking speeds above. Temps are kept in check because of the better cooling. At 20W, the system remains similar to stocks high load temperatures (generally, the deck never goes above 89C under full workloads). At 15W, the system remains much cooler and quieter than stock (fan noise and temperatures are reduced significantly). At 10W, the deck is silent and barely engages the fan. I could had increased the TDP higher than 22W, but then the system would go above the stock cooling temps and didn't want to do that. Last 2 photos showcase this, they're still within stock temps, but any higher TDP and temps would go higher too. -Undervolted the CPU via software script command. Software CPU undervolt is way more efficient than BIOS undervolt. You can save more energy at full workloads this way. Undervolt is a way of using less power to perform the same task by provided a bit of less energy to components with big tolerances. -Undervolted the GPU and SoC values in BIOS. Since there's no way to undervolt the GPU and SoC via software in amd chipsets, I then did the best next thing which was to adjust the undervolt values in the BIOS to 40mV and 40mV respectively. All of these tweaks are done in the BIOS and via a Linux script command. I'll be providing the steps to apply them; they are both easy to follow. All these changes are reversible. You can always go back to stock settings if preferred, at which point you'll only benefit from much better cooling (less fan noise and maybe a tiny bit of performance due to the cooling headroom). I also have logs proving these temps and claims. This deck has the good silent fan and the good ram (micron). I installed a glass screen protector and have babied the unit (not a scratch on it). Comes with what you see in the photos and all original packaging. Price takes into account the knowledge it took to reach these best in class numbers. Let me know if you have questions.
