Description: Designed by Gino Valle in 1965, the Solari Cifra 3 is recognized as a twentieth century design icon throughout the world, and is part of the permanent collections of MoMA (Museum of Modern Art) in New York and the New Design Museum in London. The Cifra 3 Desk Clock features a horizontal split-flap display that was patented in 1966. The black PVC flaps are printed with white numbers in two different typefaces, for hours and minutes, that were created by Massimo Vignelli, Valle’s brother-in-law who also has work in MoMA’s collection. This clock was originally bought in 1972 and still has its original box and packing slip. This clock is wired for 220-240 volts (50 or 60 Hz).
