Description: This Grasshopper print measures 1 3/4 in. X 3 in. and is in very good vintage condition. It is not dated though I believe this is from the 1950s. This is exactly as acquired from the estate of Valerie Swenson. The artist, Valerie Swenson, pencil signed the print using her initials VS. Valerie Swenson is an American Postwar & Contemporary artist who was born in 1907.She wrote and illustrated many books about nature and also created many fine paintings and prints - woodblocks and silkscreens. Swenson, while born in Kansas City, MO, worked in the Hudson Valley and lived in Shandhaken NY. Following her death I was able purchase a large assortment of her artwork.
