Description: ASK US A QUESTION Menu Shop All Bearings by Size RC Bearing Kits Fishing Reel Bearings Bicycle Bearings Ceramic Bearings Line Roller Bearings to suit Shimano Sedona Reels - Stainless Steel And Ceramic Hybrid Price FROM: AU $5.90 Inc GST Product Description Bearing Materials Why Buy Plaig Bearings Shipping & Returns Shimano Sedona Line Roller Fishing Reel Bearings listed by Reel Model. All Bearings are available for all Shimano Reels, we have them available in Bearing Kits, individual bearings by size or by Shimano Part Number. Please check our eBay store. Please note that our Ceramic Fishing Reel Bearings are supplied without lubricant, this allows you to use the oil of your choice. We sell fishing reel bearing oil that is ideal for Ceramic Bearings HERE . We also sell a range of greases to suit fishing reels. Barrier Grease for Sealing of reel frames, apply to O–rings, and to surfaces to prevent water contact and corrosion from occurring. Light sticky grease for Main/Pinion gears on finesse / light spinning reels, baitcasters, and jigging reels. Heavy Sticky Grease for Main/Pinion gears on medium/large spin & overhead, and game reels. Our Ceramic fishing reel bearings can be left dry but we highly recommend oiling them prior to use, Ceramic balls are harder than steel and can tend to be noisier and feel rough compared to stainless steel bearings. Oiling the bearing will make it quieter and feel smoother. Our Stainless Steel Fishing Reel Bearings are Pre-lubricated and ready to use. Plaig Bearings Premium Range of STAINLESS STEEL Fishing Reel Bearings are Constructed using High Corrosion Resistant Stainless Steel Balls & Bearing Cage / Retainer. Together with our Contactless Metal Shields and Shell AF2 oil for Lubrication, these bearings are designed to last. Plaig Bearings CERAMIC Hybrid Range of Premium Fishing Reel Bearings are Constructed with Si3N4 Ceramic Balls, High Corrosion Resistant Stainless Steel Cage / Retainer. Our Ceramic Bearings improve casting distance and are lighter / faster than any other bearing. Bearing Materials 440 Grade Stainless Steel Balls • Excellent corrosion resistance to water, salt water and many chemicals • Good for temperatures up to 500°C • Suitable for cryogenic applications down to -250°C 440 grade stainless steel bearings are used for greater corrosion resistance to seawater, salt spray and some acids/alkalis. They are suitable for very high temperature applications as the steel is useful in temperatures of up to 500°C. They can also be used in cryogenic applications as the steel retains its toughness down to -250°C. Silicon Nitride Ceramic Balls (Si3N4) • Very good corrosion resistance to water, salt and chemicals • Good high temperature performance up to 1,000°C • Non magnetic and electrically insulated • Lighter than steel balls • Very low heat expansion, less expansion and contraction between heating and cooling. Ceramic Bearings can run faster than all steel bearings due to the lower centrifugal force generated by the ceramic balls, the speed increase for Ceramic Bearings is 30 - 40% with adequate lubrication. Ceramic Bearings are less subjected to ball skidding under initial acceleration / torque. This allows the bearing to last longer and be far more reliable. Low heat expansion allows the bearing retainers to last longer. There are no downsides to Ceramic Bearings other than they cost more to manufacture. PTFE Heat Resistant Rubber Seals • Excellent corrosion resistance to water, salt water and most chemicals • Good high temperature performance. • Non magnetic • Only semi-precision grade is possible • Maximum temperature 260°C The PTFE Seal is rubber bonded to a metal washer. The inner lip of the seal rubs against the bearing inner ring to provide an effective seal against smaller particles such as dust and moisture while preventing lubricant leakage. Contactless Metal Shields Metal Shields are designed to prevent larger particles from entering the bearing and also to keep grease inside the bearing. As the shields make no contact with the inner ring, they do not increase starting or running torque, but they do allow for much higher RPM's. Bearing Retainer / Cage Retainers keep the balls evenly spaced around the raceway preventing ball to ball contact and thus allowing higher speeds. They also help to retain grease around the balls and raceways. For greater accuracy and to prevent any additional friction, it is important that the retainer is not allowed too much radial movement. Our Stainless Steel Bearings use a Stainless Steel Retainer and our Ceramic Hybrid Bearings also use a Stainless Steel Retainer for Corrosion Resistance. Why Buy Plaig Bearings Plaig Bearings have been put to the test since 2008, with over 500,000 Bearings being sold across Australia. Our bearings have been tested under the harshest conditions, by the best RC Drivers, Fishermen, Engineers, Cyclists and Hobbyists. There are many theories on what makes a good bearing, but putting it to the test in the harshest conditions possible is the only way to practically assess whether a bearing will stay in one piece or not. The best RC drivers with the best cars will not sacrifice a trip interstate or even internationally, to have a bearing failure during a critical race. The best Fishermen do not want a Reel failure whilst reeling in that big fish. Many professionals put their trust in our Bearings. Value for money is a priority for Plaig Bearings, providing exceptional quality for reasonable prices is what we do best. Shipping & returns All orders are sent using Australia Post Express Post.
