Excellent book in a very good dust jacket protected with a mylar cover. The inside of the first page has a sticker with the previous owners name. Pages are clean and the binding is excellent. Dust jacket has some small tears and chips, some wearing especially on the bottom edge and a medium tear along the top front edge. Dust jacket has date of 11/58 which indicates the first state dust jacket. This is not price clipped. Volume 2, Fredericksburg to Meridian. Published 1963 - first printing. This book is in very good plus condition with a very good dust jacket protect by a mylar cover. Very good plus book in very good dust jacket. The dust jacket has some wearing along the edges and corners, some small to medium tears along the edges and shows some surface damage along the spine. The covers are in excellent condition. The pages are clean and well intact. The first page has a small sticker along the bottom inside edge. The second page has a sticker with a previous owners name. Not price clipped. Volume 3, Red River to Appomattox. Published 1974 - first edition signed and inscribed by the author. This book is in very good condition with a mylar protected dust jacket in very good condition. Cover are very clean and in excellent condition. The bottom edge of the front cover has a small chip. Pages are clean and intact. The bottom outside edge of the text block has some discoloration from shelf storage. The second page has some separation from the spine/binding but is still well attached. The back of the book shows separation from the spine/binding (see photos for details). The dust jacket is not price clipped. The rear flap has date of 11/74.
