This sax has never been relacquered, but the previous owner had the sax chemically stripped. The sax has a gorgeous unlacquered patina that I think will continue to change and even out over time. The pads are in great condition and have a ton of life left, as you'd expect with a modern Selmer such as this one. My tech just went through the horn, so it's perfectly regulated and speaking effortlessly in all registers. The Series III has an extra vent for middle C#, which brings the pitch up without having to rely on awkward fingerings. This is a huge upgrade, and Selmer has incorporated this advancement on the Supreme. The sax is incredibly even throughout all registers and feels very efficient. Intonation is excellent. I really like the Series III, and I played on this model exclusively for ten years. If you're considering buying a new Selmer, save over 50% and buy this one instead.
