Description: VINTAGE PERUVIAN LLAMA SOUVENIR COIN SPOON This is such an unusual spoon. It is made from an old coin which reads: REPUBLICA PERUANA, LIMA, 5 DECIMOS showing the coat of arms of Peru and the year 1926 The underside says: FIRME Y FELIZ POR LA UNION UN SOL Made from a real coin which is 900 grade silver. The stem of the spoon is ornately fashioned with an encased twisting shaft terminated by a quirky Llama framed by beautiful scrolling filigree silver wire work. Stamped on the back of the Llama: 835 (silver grade) It's a very nice piece of early to mid 20th C tourist souvenir ware. CONDITION In very good original condition showing minor signs of age and use. A few knocks down each side of the spoons shaft and a little bit bent down near where it joins the bowl but not too bad in reality.
