On January 21, 1924, the Central Komsomol Committee took a decision to name the pioneer organization after V.I. Lenin, and in March of 1926, the official name of the All-Union Pioneer Organization named after V.I. Lenin was assigned. The mass children's communist organization had an all-embracing national character and aimed at educating children as citizens fully committed to the Communist Party and the Soviet state. The leadership of the pioneer organization was exercised by the All-Union Leninist Young Communist League.
