Description: The Russia 100 Rubles banknote was issued by the Bank of Russia in 2015 in a vertical orientation. It was released to commemorate the annexation of Crimea from Ukraine. It comes in a combination of yellow, green, brown, and blue. The obverse features a painting by Ivan Konstantinovich Aivazovsky “The Russian Squadron on the Sebastopol Roads”, a sculpture by Amandus Adamson “Monument to the Scuttled Ships” in Sevastopol Bay, a layout of the Sevastopol city, Architect I. Fialko and sculptor V. Yakovlev’s “Memorial to the Heroic Defense of Sevastopol in 1941-1942” on Nakhimov square and the St. Vladimir’s Cathedral. The reverse of the paper bill depicts a grapevine, the “Sail” cliff and Au-Dag mountain, the Swallow’s Nest castle on Aurora Cliff overlooking Cape of Ai-Todor in Crimea, the mosque of Khan in Khan’s Palace, a radio telescope RT-70 near the town of Yevpatoria, and a Quick recognition code. The banknote comes with a holographic windowed security thread with a demetallized 100 and a micro-perf symbol of the ruble. It also bears a watermark that reflects Catherine the Great and electrotype jewelry. The banknote is 150 x 65 mm in size and is part of the Series KC.
