Roman Gladius w/ Modern Upgrades. Carbon Steel Blade by Cold Steel, Leather Wrap

Description: Roman Gladius with modern upgrades, just under 27 inches total length and about 3 pounds in total weight. 18.75 inches of blade, 8 inches of handle with 4 inches of distressed blue leather wrap and a matching leather cord lanyard. Includes the heavy duty nylon sheath with adjustable shoulder strap shown in the pics. The blade is thick 1055+ Carbon Steel made by Cold Steel (Stamped above the handle). It is sharp, full tang, and features a baked on black rust proof finish. The handle is high impact carbon fiber molded to look like a traditional Gladius handle. The leather wrap is distressed blue strap that looks old and worn, but it is actually soft and new. Proudly made by Jesse at Karbon Steele from a Cold Steel blade. You will need to clean the blade with mineral oil occasionally to prevent rust on the exposed edges, especially after use or sharpening... be very careful and work in outward strokes because it will be super sharp. A whetstone is fine to sharpen this gladius, but a steady hand and an accusharp or something similar works just as well. If the black finish gets scratched then a sharpie will cover up most marks. To prevent drying and cracking, the leather will need some conditioning as well if not handled often (oil from your hands keeps it conditioned).
