Description: Roger Staubach & Bob “ Bullet “ Hayes Autographed Ball & Mini-Helmet Roger Staubach autographed Authentic NFL Football Authenticated by Steiner Ball is flat Bob Hayes autographed Mini-Helmet Authenticated by Beckett Roger Staubach on Bob Hayes : He was a great player, made big plays and really changed how you have to cover players. I think he had an effect on defenses because they couldn't play him man-to-man. No one could match his speed, and he had good hands. I think he mesmerized the other players with his Olympics success, and nobody was in the same league with Bob. We were amazed at how God gave him his extra speed. Bob Hayes, scored a 95-yard touchdown off the arm of Don Meridith, who was playing with a broken rib. At the time it was the longest touchdown catch in Dallas history. It happened on November 13, 1966, in Washington. An indelible image of Hayes's electrifying speed came in 1971 at Yankee Stadium when Cowboys quarterback Roger Staubach threw a 20-yard pass to Hayes that turned into an 85-yard touchdown. After winning gold medals at the 1964 Summer Olympics, he played as a split end in the National Football League (NFL) for the Dallas Cowboys (for 11 seasons). Hayes is the only athlete to win both an Olympic gold medal and a Super Bowl ring. He was a two-sport stand-out in college in both track and field and football at Florida A&M University. Hayes was enshrined in the Dallas Cowboys Ring of Honor in 2001 and was selected for induction in the Pro Football Hall of Fame in January 2009.
