Description: ThE InFamous. ThE Iconic. ThE Historic. ThE Most Important Timepiece in History. ThE Accutron 214. NOTHING else compares. LONG before Omega hitched a ride... on the coattails of Accutron... This was in Space. In Satellites. On Astronaut's wrists. In Rockets. Then Omega bought a ticket to ride... Gorgeous restored vintage Stainless Steel Swiss Factory Black Dial version of the classic Astronaut men's watch. Classic Bakelite rotating bezel. All Numbers Matching/correct details original. Correct factory hand set (these all too often have incorrect hand sets... especially the second hand). New Old Stock correct crystal installed. Correct case back... with the Swiss Serial # on the back... and the "546-2" stamp inside. The Pillar Plate date is the numbers matching "M8" silver tone original Swiss factory movement Caliber 214 HN. Very nice original case and conditions with just a bit of "patina/character." NOT another mismatched Parts Bin Frankensteined Converted Crapper from the chop shops that I list below. Back Set! Electro-Magnetic Tuning Fork! The first successful, and BEST, Electronic Timepiece! The only watch that MUST be in every Watch Lovers collection! It's a HUMMER! This was completely disassembled and deep cleaned. The 4 piece factory rotating bezel was disassembled/cleaned/adjusted/greased... it sits, sets, and rotates as it should. Look at the pictures to see the incredible amount of grunge that gets into them through the years! ACK! Friction points oiled and the setting crown mechanism has been greased per Bulova Spec's. Phased to run on the modern/long lasting/inexpensive/easy to get 1.55v modern 387S battery... no need for diodes or "purple dollops" on the Coils. No reason to reduce the value of these classics by altering the electronics. This tests and times beautifully and within spec. No need to alter and stress the electronics on this beauty... thereby devaluing it! Why "coat" the Coils... adding stress and trapping the windings and limiting expansion/contraction movement? 70% of the Coil issues are on the Battery side (due to owners using incorrect batteries back in the day)... NOT the Component side! Stop wasting time over-bidding Frankensteined FAKES, when you can havethe genuine article. Why buy an over "engineered" parts bin mess from a part-time "hobbyist" who throws together a multitude of parts? What value does that have now... much less in the future?! It'll be worth nothing more than what it is... an altered mess! Invest in a Classic that you can be proud of... and that will retain value. 98% of the "Accutrons" here are eBay are "Parts Bin Frankensteins." If you want to nearly guarantee that you buy a Fakeview... look for the Chop Shops in CA, GA, VA (this pos copies my descriptions... but lies about his details!!!), FL, Seattle, Bulgaria and the UK (now PA is in the mix... and even stating that the aftermarket parts he installs are "original and correct!!!!"). :( They spit them out, by the dozens every month, to unsuspecting buyers for profit... thereby ruining classic collectible watches by the thousands. Why buy junk? Why feed the destructive beast? I use the Mobius products that were specified by Bulova and I install new gaskets. I work on these the Old School way. I am not a Part Time Hobbyist doing this after my day job... and I see no reason to alter these... it only decreases their value. The goal is to get these right... so that we can enjoy and preserve these Historic works of Horology/Engineering/Art. I send these out double boxed to protect them, with a multi page Instruction Set, an extra battery, Spring Bars, insured, with Signature Confirmation Service... and I hand deliver them to USPS for receipt in hand so that we are BOTH covered! I do these RIGHT because I LOVE them. If you want cheap, badly thrown together FAKE CRAP at a "low" price point... I'm NOT "your guy!" There are plenty of people out there destroying classic Accutrons... would you accept this behavior for cigars, cars, watches, etc.?! SAVE the 214! Be the ONLY one on YOUR block! NOTE! No strap or bracelet is included on the watch... I have plenty of vintage straps and bracelets here that will fit this beauty.
