These units allow you to suspend filter foam between the two plates to trap bubbles and particles escaping the main refugium/equipment section. These are self supporting so the distance between the secondary baffle and the bubble trap plate is not defined by the width of the filter plate allowing you to set your place distance based on how much extra filter material you'll need.
