Don’t miss out on this gently circulated Yanceyville, NC USA- Bank of Yanceyville $10 dollar bill dating back from May 1, 1854. This bank was chartered on Dec. 10, 1852 and operated from 1854-66. This historic $10 note is in Very Good condition being 170+ years old with solid coloring and minimal damage. There is some faint writing on the front of the bill over the big “1”, and a few letters/numbers written on the back. At the lower left is a portrait of Bartlett Yancey, Jr. (1785-1828) who studied law, began a practice, and eventually entered politics. He was said to have had a large influence when it came to public affairs, and was considered one of North Carolina’s finest. On the right, Ceres holds a sheaf of grain and a sickle.
