Description: Offering a vintage 1940's Philips Dynamic Microphone. Philips got it's start way back in 1891 in The Netherlands. The company initially manufactured carbon filament incandescent lamps, evolving into a variety of electronic products, namely in X-ray and broadcasting technology. Philips also manufactured the first audio cassette player (1963), first portable the boom box (1966), first video recorder (VCR) (1971) and first LaserDisc (1978). Now they are a leading producer of medical equipment. This mic is a rare one, and it was a task to find info on it, but we could not. It's casing is solid brass along with the support yoke and clean Philips badge right up front. The brass have been cleaned of much oxidation, but the insides are all original, (dynamic element and transformer) have been tested and produce a strong clear output. The original cable was rotted, so we have installed a new 5 foot cable with male XLR plug. The mic stand mount had an odd thread, so we have installed a standard 5/8" thread and are including the basic display desk stand. ** Audio sample available upon request. Always safe secure packaging and fast fair shipping. ** ** WE BUY OLD MICROPHONES...INVENTORY REGULARLY UPDATED **** Click on my eBay username for details. (Text or call.) With a life-long career in major market broadcast radio in the imaging/audio production field, I continue to buy, sell, collect and restore vintage microphones, primarily from the 1930's through the 1970's. Have a vintage mic to sell, made a purchase and need follow-up, or just have a general question, we're here to help.
