Description: For sale is a RARE 1918 TYPE 1 Original Photo of Hugh Jennings. In this outstanding image you see Jennings in an action shot swinging the bat in what looks to be warmups. This was taken during his final game as a player/coach while playing against the White Sox. He was a colorful individual as a player and maybe more so as a manager. It seemed like that was the prerequisite for playing ball in that Dead Ball Era. Players were known for fighting, taunting and exploiting any type of angle to beat their next opponent. Jennings played and coached for the Detroit Tigers which were known for many antics with the likes of Ty Cobb as their ring leader. This is the only photo I have handled of him holding and swinging a bat. This photo was taken September 2nd 1918 and is Credited to (N.E.A.). The size is 6.5 x 8.75 and is in Excellent Condition. There is a slight surface crease on the right border along with a white spot on the top right corner which is from the clamp that was used to remove the photo from the glass plate in the development stage. This is truly a Rare photo of the final game of Jennings career. This would be an outstanding addition for an advanced collection. The photo comes with Free Insured Shipping that will arrive in 3-5 days. Please contact me if you have anymore questions about the photo since ALL SALES ARE FINAL. I do provide a 100% Money Back Guarantee that this photo will pass as a Type 1 Original Photo with a 3rd party Authenticator. PLEASE STOP BY AND CHECK OUT ALL OF THE OTHER PHOTOS AND VINTAGE ITEMS.
