Description: Grenville's Georgia & Carolina Almanac, for the Year of our Lord 1850. Being the Second after Bissextile or Leap Year, and the latter part of the 74th and the beginning of the 75th of the Independence of the United States of America. Calculated for the Meridian and Horizon of Augusta, Ga. By Robert Grier (late of Butts County, GA) Published: Joseph A. Carrie & Co., Augusta, Georgia, 1850. FIRST EDITION. Octavo, [44pp.]. Lacks one leaf (pp. 21-22?). A fair to almost good copy, uniformly age-toned, with several tape repairs and some gentle chipping and small tears to the extremities. A few odd insect holes, not affecting any content. Scattered ink stains on the first leaf. Appears to be maybe missing its original wrappers, as there is a very small piece left in one of the staples. The staples strike me as later than 1850, though they could be original. A scarce volume, as I found no more than three copies in worldwide library holdings for this 1850 edition. Suitable as a reading or research copy. A nice copy of this SCARCE work. Not Ex-Lib. I've done my best to describe the book, but if you have additional questions, please don't hesitate to send me an e-mail.
