Description: Good copy of this rare early edition of Burgh's "The Dignity of Human Nature, or, S Brief Account of the Certain and Established Means for Attaining the True End of our Existence". Covers show some wear; front hinge well used but binding is pretty solid. Intermittent staining throughout. Early endpaper has small tear; at least one page with creased corner. Bookplate of William Handy Ludlow, New York politician, Union officer during the Civil War, and Brevet Major-General. Book has been in the same family since then--6 generations in all. A nice book with an interesting provenance. kevindaleybooks.t Note: I try to identify any flaws in books as much as possible. Sometimes a photo will catch something that I hadn't noticed when making the listing--so it's good practice to look at the photographs as well as to read the listing. I want buyers to be pleased with what they buy! Thanks for looking
