Great communication and service. The TASCAM System 20 Mixers were designed to provide the maximum flexibility and performance. They are equipped with a combination of features that allow them to be used successfully in a broad range of applications including: Sound Reinforcement, Studio Recording, Broadcast Production, and Video Assembly. Released in 1985, the System 20 includes a main mixer MM-20, a meter unit MU-20, an expander EX-20 and a parametric equalizer PE20. The input / output is patch-type can be easily connected according to the purpose. It boasted four independent busses with independent Pan & Fader controls and a nice, big VU meters bridge. Among the plethora of other features are Balanced XLR inputs for 6 mic channels along with multiple outputs for direct, line, aux and more outputs for all four busses and the stereo output. Each channel has very clean and versatile pre-amps with gain controls and the EX-20 adds robust EQ sections for four channels. The treble has a fixed 10 kHz frequency range, while both the midrange and bass are sweepable! Assembled, the System 20 weighs just under 23 lbs and measures 32" x 6-3/4" 17 deep including the meter bridge. By "The Best, Ltd." policy this unit will be double-boxed for secure shipment. Condition:This beautiful mixer system is in "Very Good" condition with minor signs of use and nice, clean control panels! Aside from some of the typical scratches to the bases, there are a few light scuffs & scratches to the control panels, some hard to make out in the pics. All original knobs are present and complete, and the meters are clear with minimal scuffing. It still has all the original Teac jumpers and two of the patch cords. All four of the manuals are also in excellent condition, just some yellowing and a little creasing. It even has the Circuit Diagram, catalog insert and Setup Manual along with seven of the unused "Patch sheets" for planning out your various setups! Please examine all the pictures thoroughly for actual condition.Service:On inspection, all units were working, just some scratchy or inconsistent controls, and two of the meter lamps were out, so they went to our tech for the usual service. All three units were disassembled for access to all the switches & pots which were cleaned internally with Specialist Contact Cleaner (proven superior to DeoxIT by our customers), while the faders and push-buttons, which we have learned don't tolerate the more aggressive cleaners, were treated with DeoxIT F5, specifically designed to both clean & lubricate fader controls. Two of the meter lamps were out, and we would normally upgrade all four to LED's. But, considering the collectibility of this system, we decided to keep the original incandescents and replaced the two that were out. They are the fuse type lamps and easily replaced, so we will include two more replacements just in case the other's decide to go. Or, if you prefer the LED upgrade, just let us know BEFORE buying or sending an offer and we will switch them out for you free of charge! Post-purchase requests may incur a small fee.While open, all electrolytic caps were inspected for bulging or leakage and all PC boards were inspected with all questionable solder joints re-flowed. It's this kind of preventative servicing that makes it smart to buy from a company with an experienced, in-house technician.Testing: Once serviced, this mixer system was set up on our test bench and all switches, functions and meters work correctly, with all inputs and outputs confirmed as operational. Every knob and fader was confirmed working smoothly & distortion-free!
