Giratina V and Giratina VSTAR are among several cards to have attacks or Abilities that interact with the Lost Zone, a mechanic that last appeared in the Cosmic Eclipse expansion of the Sun & Moon Series. These cards can be identified by a "shadowy aura"—purple, pink, and turquoise-colored wisps that surround the Pokémon in the regular prints of Pokémon V and Pokémon VSTAR and the illustration window on regular prints of other cards. Lost Origin features more Hisuian Pokémon, including Hisuian Zoroark VSTAR and Hisuian Goodra VSTAR, as well as more Radiant Pokémon such as Radiant Gardevoir. It also features another Trainer Gallery subset that contains primarily Full Art reprints that depict a Pokémon alongside a Trainer. There are 100 cards plus 27 secret cards.
