Description: This is a really lovely Cream Color Pitcher with vines, leaves, ladybug and a Hummingbird perched on the edge. This piece is made of a high fired porcelain with a brightly multi-colored glaze. It was handmade in Tonala, Mexico by Macario Covarrubias and is signed under the handle. Macario is a member of the esteemed group of master potters, Herencia Milenaria. I just received a shipment of 6 of his artwork and also have some tea / coffee cups that match this pitcher. Macario was "Apprentice under teachers Jorge Wilmot Mason and Fernando Carmona. In his work he skillfully mixes sculpture and painting, representing works with organic elements and shapes.His decoration based on textured colored enamels, and his experimentation with gold and silver lusters, provide his work with an avant-garde touch.He has worked in public administration, highlighting the period 2010-2012 as Director of the National Ceramics Museum of Tonalá.
