Extremely avant garde! Perrelet is well-documented as the inventor of the automatic wristwatch. They are still in business today and making high end luxury watches. As we describe the watch below and it's new in box condition, please note that the interior box shows signs of wear and "flaking" from years of storage. This watch displays some design features that are fantastic. The movement is Perrelet 331 with 25 jewels and a 42 hour power reserve. The case is 44mm with the patented "hidden" crown at 3:00 which is very easy to operate. The case material is stainless steel with a black Diamond Like Coating. The front sapphire crystal is beautifully coated to be anti-reflective. Another sapphire crystal adorns the see-through case back. The soft black rubber (not plastic) strap (band) is easily adjustable and closes with a double folding stainless steel highly decorated DLC double fold clasp. Twelve black turbine blades rotate over the red cross under the dial, which creates a fascinating effect. Most Perrelet watches feature a double rotor - one in front and the traditional one in the back. When the dial side rotor moves it oscillates over the red spoked fixed dial and creates a stunning visual. Please see our video! The craziest thing is that this watch uses BLACK luminescent material that actually works. Polished black hands have the black luminous in them, as well as the markers around the stadium. Again, please see the pictures. The push-pull crown has a bale which lifts up and pulls out so that you can adjust the time. It then folds away (neatly hidden) against the case. Very little chance of banging this crown on anything. Water resistant to 50 Meters/165 Feet The domed sapphire crystal on the front is signed "Perrelet" and "1777" with the Perrelet trademark. Retail price in approximately 2012 was $6,500 dollars. This watch is new in the box, never been worn. However, the interior of the box has not aged well. Watch is running strong. Tested on our winder and the Witschi, the watch shows outstanding performance.This watch is from a very large collection that was amassed between the late 1980's and the mid 2000's.
