Description: This sale is for two identical Victorian clamper mourning bracelets, both bearing the Patent date of Dec. 16, 1879. The are most likely yellow gold filled and the clamper portions are coated with black enamel. Time has taken a toll on the enamel and there are areas of loss. The 3/4 inch by 1/2 inch central rectangular decorative ornamentations feature black glass framed in gold metal with applied fancy swirls and three seed pearls each. They will easily fit up to a 7 inch wrist. The black glass panels have sustained some damage, a partial crack in one bracelet and a chip in the other. Total weight is 46 grams. All in all, they are in good antique condition and were obviously worn quite a bit. The mourning period in those times was up to two years. One price for the pair of bracelets
