Description: Outsider Folk Art Double Sided Painting By Willie Jinks (1921-2012). This is an awesome piece of work by Willie, 2 for 1 Paintings done in true Jinks story telling form! One side he's talking about "Dan's catfish hole" and on the other side he's talking about "Hoper's baby sister's precious hen", "bird say not what she say, "Hoper lay it down" which I believe he means to slaughter it. Born 1 of 13 children in 1921 to a Sharecropper family from Locust Grove Georgia. He moved to Atlanta as a young man and began working for the department of sanitation. He began collecting junk to make art out of in his "hobby shed" and called his self a "Hobbyman" which in his cryptic writing it comes out as "Hoperman" and shows up in much of his work. This piece is done on very dense wall or fence board and is very heavy weighing about 20lbs. I love this piece so much and think he's definitely in the Outsider Folk Art Hall of Fame..... Any questions please ask and thanks for looking...
