Outing in the Park, Impressionist E. J. Cygne

Description: Fine quality oil on canvas painting of a summer park scene by well listed Impressionist artist, E.J. Cygne (born 1929). This oil painting measures 9" x 12" unframed. The painting is in very good original condition. It is signed in the lower right-very faint. The painting has a fine ornate Impressionist frame (very heavy) with linen liner and that measures 16" x 19". Frame is in very good condition-linen liner is toned. I would date the painting to the 1960s-1970s. Painting is ready to hang! Artist Bio on the back of the painting. E.J. Cygne (born 1929) is the nom de plume of Jose Fernandez Jr. This follows in line with Andre Gisson (Anders Gittleson) and Salabet, who each used a French name in order to increase the marketability of their paintings. There is a biography of the artist on the reverse of this painting that I have seen on other Cygne paintings. The biography states that the artist went to Columbia University and that the artist exhibited in the U.S. and in Europe. What is known is that the artist's works have sold at auction for as much as $5000.
