Description: Without a doubt one of the most amazing posters we have ever come across. The Rifleman’s Creed was written by Major General William H. Rupertus during WWII following the attack on Pearl Harbor between late 1941 and early 1942. To the best of our knowledge, no posters were ever produced during the was with the creed written on it. However, we have found this poster, privately printed by General Cable Company exclusively for their factories. It features the creed, however changes it to “My machine” showing the importance of war work and fighting in the war. Below the text is says Suggested by “My Rifle… The Creed of the United States Marine”. We cannot find a single other example of the poster. All we can find is a page in the book “fight talk” which is all about the posters that General Cable put out during the war. Beyond rare. A must for any marine collector for sure. Measures 28x38.5” Condition- very good, middle fold line split of about 5”, some small tears, none into image, all repaired with acid free tape on verso.
