Description: Offered is an original World War Two production German military issued bayonet manufactured for use with the iconic K98k rifle. This bayonet is coded jwh for manufacture by Manufacture National [Staatliche Waffenfabrik], Chatellerault, France. This was a scarce maker in occupied France and this mid-War bayonet is dated 1942 on the spine. The bayonet retains its factory edge, tip, and finish, having never been sharpened. There is only the expected loss of factory blue near the tip from insertion into and removal from the scabbard. It is correctly double waffenampted on the pommel. The grips have only normal handling marks and the grip screws remain unmolested. The lock/release button functions as it should. It is offered together with its non-matching scabbard, which is scarce in its own right. The 1936 dated scabbard is coded S/184 for manufacture by Remscheider Hobelmesserfabrik, Remscheid. The scabbard is correctly waffenampted on its ball tip and retains its factory finish. Overall, a very nice rig by a scarce maker.
