The editions were nearly identical to the stateside version, albeit in a reduced size of 7-5/8" tall and 5-3/8" wide format of 32-34 pages without advertising copy. Time-Life distributed the pony editions free-of-charge to service men and women in the theaters of operation. Distribution extended beyond V-J Day to take into account the troops on occupation duty. The issues included in this lot include the following editions (pictured above and below, one in a plastic protective sleeves): May 14, 1944 (2 V-E Day editions); June 4, 1945; June 18, 1945; June 25, 1945; and August 13, 1945. Here's an opportunity for the advanced collector to obtain rare paper ephemera of WWII for the collection or footlocker display.
