Description: This rare and exquisite original plate commemorating Queen Elizabeth II's Coronation shows the late monarch's portrait embedded in the royal coat of arms, flanked by the unicorn of Scotland on one side and the lion of England on the other. Beneath her image is the title Coronation, and the date June 2nd 1953. This plate, by the manufacturer Royal Alma, was made in England and is trimmed with flourishes in 22 karat gold. Its backstamp indicates the manufacturer and its establishment date with its seal, and additionally has a flower stamped in black. No other version I have seen of this particular plate has the black flower stamped on the back - indicating that it is an uncommon aspect. This lovely plate is in excellent condition, with only some small signs of wear commensurate with age. It measures approximately 8.5" wide and 8.5" from top to bottom. Perfect addition to any china closet, royal memorabilia collection, and simply a wonderful accent which would enjoy its place in tasteful, general decor. Wonderful piece of history and awesome gift for fans of that amazing woman. Will be packed with care.
