Description: This is a rare 100% authentic cap. Please read the entire description to understand what you will be receiving. During the early 00's I wanted a rare colorway Von Dutch cap. All of the cool vintage caps I found were falling apart and totally not wearable. Foam disintegrates and the mesh seems thin and tends to fall apart... making a true vintage trucker cap appear sloppy and "melted" when worn. I found a particular colorway made by Von Dutch that was amazing (the use of real suede and felt and mesh was fantastic... not to mention the contrasting stitching!)... I wanted it... but I did not want their logo on it. I wanted to use my (then NOS and unused) vintage 60's Red Man patch placed onto it. The Von Dutch store in Hollywood California was very cool and eager to help. They actually took the blank cap I wanted and professionally placed my vintage patch onto it. It was not cheap. I paid $90 for the cap, $75 for the work, and initially bought the vintage patch for $140. This was not an inexpensive endeavor, but I was lucky the store was willing to help... still small and building their "star" clientele with awesome personalized service. I actually decided to not wear the cap because it looked so amazing and I did not want to ruin it. It was on display in a glass cabinet for about a year... and then has spent the rest of its life in temperature controlled storage. This is easily one of the highest quality hats I have ever seen. The colors are amazing and very unique. The actual cap was initially produced in very small quantities back in the early 00's... slightly before the huge Von Dutch explosion. I have actually never seen another person wearing one. The patch is amazing and still looks mint. It is not a reproduction. The embroidery is slightly sloppy and not perfect, as all patches from the late 60's and early 70's. This is a one of a kind item and amazing to see. I would say that the item is 9.5 of 10 in condition. All snap back tabs are perfect and the mesh near mint. It still looks as new as the day I bought it. I'm actually asking less than what I paid for the total item nearly two decades ago. I totally understand if this is not for you... but the person who loves this item will know exactly what I was thinking. This is cool... and a stand out piece... and for sure one of a kind.
